on the complexity of the design and the time we estimate it will take.

    • To get started fill in our custom design form with as much information as possible. You can access our custom design form Here
    • Once we have your information, we will schedule a consultation either over the phone or in person, sometimes there may be enough information that this step is not required.
However, it is a lovely way to get to know each other and for you to express the look you would like to achieve in greater depth.

HOW WE DO IT

PRINTING TECHNIQUES

Digital print

Digital printing refers to when a computer design file, usually a pdf is sent to the printer and then the printer prints toner onto paper using the CMYK process colours. This is a cost effective method for small run printing and perfect for invitations were quantities are low. At Agapi we use a special colour management and calibration software that measures colour and keeps colour accurate right through the whole job. Advantages of this type of printing is that invitations and envelopes can be personalised as there are no plates required to do the job.

White Digital print

White ink printing which allows the possibility to print on dark coloured paper and envelopes.

Hot Foil

This is the process where pigment or metallic foil is applied to paper using a heated die plate that is stamped into the foil, making it adhere to the paper, leaving a slightly debossed design impression of the die. Foil Stamping adds the right amount of luxury to any wedding invitation design.

Foil transfer

This is the method of transferring metallic foiling to artwork that has been printed using a digital printer. Heat is used to transfer the foil to the area that has been printed causing it to fuse to the toner. The results are a smooth finish. This is a very inexpensive way of glamming up your wedding stationery as no plates are required.

Letterpress

Letterpress is the traditional method of relief printing dating back to the 15th century. Photopolymer plates with the raised design are locked into the chase of the letterpress machine. The plate is inked and then stamped into the paper to transfer the ink and the impression. One colour is done at a time and a different plate is needed for each colour. Although labour intense, purely worth it as the effect is truly impressive.

Blind Letterpress

This is the same process as letterpress or hot foiling although no ink or foil is used. The result is a subtle design without colour. This is great as a background design as it does not interrupt the legibility of what is written above.
